Abby Kohut's May 16 Presentation Will Address Success for the Seasoned Search ... The Benefits of Being Overqualified
ALLEN, Texas (April 30, 2018) — The St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry in Allen announced that Abby Kohut, who is known in the job search world as "Absolutely Abby," will be the guest speaker at its Wednesday morning meeting on May 16. Kohut is the President of Staffing Symphony, LLC, and author of Absolutely Abby's 101 Job Search Secrets. Absolutely Abby's topic at the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry meeting will be "Success for the Seasoned Search ... The Benefits of Being Overqualified." The May 16 meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
"Absolutely Abby's May 16 presentation is the second time Kohut has been a guest speaker for the St. Jude Career Alliance," said Jack Bick, volunteer coordinator for this ministry. "In November 2017, Absolutely Abby addressed our group on 'Exposing the Hidden Job Market' which drew in our largest audience ever. Many of our regular attendees have requested a second Absolutely Abby presentation and we are pleased to be hosting Kohut again." Since 2012, Absolutely Abby has been on a mission to help one million job seekers. Her Nov. 29, 2017 and May 16, 2018 presentations at the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry meetings are part of a nationwide tour across the United States to accomplish this goal.
In the past 22 years, Kohut has held corporate recruiting positions in a variety of industries and is responsible for helping approximately 10,000 people get hired. The St. Jude Career Alliance is a ministry helping college students, career builders and those who are unemployed/underemployed to develop individual career strategies that meets at 9 a.m. most every Wednesday at St. Jude Parish in Allen.
St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 N. Greenville Ave., between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road. Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance between the church and the parish offices.
In addition to the expert speaker series, the ministry offers the career marketing workshop series and other career-oriented speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings as well as training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
